Their story has made news in the past weeks - the plight of around 1,500 stranded students of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños (UPLB) residing in dormitories located inside and within the vicinity of their campus.
Unable to return to their home provinces following the declaration of enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, the students have been stranded for nearly a month. Calls have been made by student organizations, alumni, and the UPLB administration to extend help to the students, particularly to ensure their daily food supply and other basic needs .
In response, Pilipinas In Action teamed up with Century Pacific Food Inc. and Nestle Philippines to put up a batch of basic food items for the students, consisting of 200 cans of tuna and processed meat, plus 200 packs of chocolate and coffee drinks. The food items were turned over on April 13 to university officials.
