Celebrating Our Super Moms On A Bike

Bike For Hope Pilipinas in Action Working Mothers

Pilipinas In Action deeply acknowledges the integral role that mothers play in building a strong and thriving nation.

In fact, our team’s mission and vision were born out of a mother’s heart for helping others. Senator Pia S. Cayetano, a working mom herself, has always recognized the dual role of women in today’s society - as caretakers of the home and as important members of the workforce. That’s why she has pushed for policies and initiatives to promote the welfare of Filipinas and their children.

During the pandemic, we have witnessed more than ever how Filipino mothers are willing to go to any lengths just to protect and take care of their families. We fully support these strong women.

To pay it forward, our team continues to provide assistance to working moms from all over the country through our Bike For Hope Program. Our beneficiaries include single mothers who are working as frontline health workers, essential employees, and vendors, serving their respective communities while continuing to attend to their children’s needs at home.

One of them is 46-year-old Emmalyn Diaz, a single parent to three (3) kids and a midwife at the Pasay City Health Office. She recently received a brand new bicycle from Pilipinas In Action, which she now uses as her means to safely reach her place of work.

36-year-old mother of three (3) Mary Jane Hernandez, a street vendor of vegetables and viands from San Pablo City, is also among our beneficiaries. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Mary Jane travels for 10 kilometers daily to make ends meet. She says the new bike she received from us will go a long way in making her days more productive.

Amabella Sardoncillo, a 45-year-old traffic enforcer in Mandaue City and a mother of four (4), is another addition to the working moms who can now travel to work more safely and efficiently on a bike.

These are just some of the hardworking Filipinas who are recipients of our programs. They are the faces of strength and resilience in this time of global health crisis. These mothers bravely serve in the frontlines during a pandemic and cycle their way to work every day just to be able to provide for their children.

We celebrate all of our super moms on a bike! They inspire our team to keep working harder and reaching out to more Filipinos in need of assistance. As these women strive to protect and take care of their families, we must also protect their wellbeing by keeping them healthy and safe on the road.

Pilipinas In Action salutes all working mothers! #
