Aside from observing basic hygiene and social distancing measures, maintaining a nutritious diet is necessary to boost one's personal protection against the COVID-19 virus.
Pilipinas in Action fully recognizes this by actively promoting and distributing nutritious food relief packs to our beneficiaries.
Recently, our team partnered with private donors Geraldine Santiago and Pia Encarnacion for a vegetable-based food relief drive for low-income households in Quezon City.
For this project, we prepared vegetable food packs consisting of nutrient-rich kalabasa, and bundles of sitaw and okra sourced from farmers with the help of former Candaba, Pampanga Mayor Jerry Pelayo.
With the duo of Geraldine and Pia leading the way, the vegetable food packs were distributed on April 8 to 235 families belonging to the Pinagbuklod Homeowners Association in Sitio Veterans, Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City
In the coming days, Pilipinas in Action will continue our efforts to bring vegetables to every table in every community, which we are able to reach through the generosity of our donors.
Pilipinas in Action continues to welcome pledges for food relief through our official website https://pilipinasinaction.ph.
